$4,000 in One Day: What Adult Creators Are Doing Inside The Boardroom

Blog Post Written By: Melrose Michaels

There is a wall that almost every adult creator hits at some point in their career and it is almost never about content..

The wall is almost always one of two things: making every single business decision completely alone with nobody who actually understands this industry to think alongside, or being stuck in a loop replaying the same weeks and months and sometimes years while changing very little and wondering why nothing moves..

I have watched that play out in creators for 14+ years so I finally built the thing I wish had existed when I was figuring all of this out alone.

Why isolation in this industry is structural, not personal

As adult creators, we know that we cannot call a family member to talk platform strategy, or join a local chamber of commerce.. It's a lonely journey, and I wrote about my years of secrecy in this Substack post.

The reality is that most creators figure things out the same way I did for most of my career: through trial and error, slowly, expensively and almost entirely alone. I genuinely believe that if I had access to the right people and the right information sooner, I could have compressed 14 years of building into a fraction of that time.

That belief is what eventually pushed me to build The Boardroom.

What The Boardroom actually is

When most people hear "paid community", they picture something they have already tried and been disappointed by... So I want to be really specific because I think this is genuinely different from anything that currently exists for adult creators.

The Boardroom is not a course and there is no curriculum to follow. It is not 1-1 coaching, and I want to be upfront about that because there is only one of me, I have other businesses, and I'm still an active creator myself.

What it is: a weekly live video call every Monday at 12pm CST, structured entirely around the real businesses of the people in the room, combined with a mastermind where every member runs their own tests, tracks real results and shares what they find with the group.

You are not just learning from me, you are learning from every person in that room and from the actual data their businesses are producing week over week in real time. When one member's experiment produces results, the whole group gets to implement that strategy immediately.

What the first 3 weeks actually produced

We soft launched quietly to CEO Society members first and 28 founding members joined within 2 weeks.

The homework from our very first call was: separate every activity in your business into tasks that directly make money vs. tasks that are necessary but do not drive revenue. One member did that exercise, committed to spending one full day exclusively on her highest money-making activity and earned over $4,000 across platforms by 10pm.

Another member had been avoiding a specific content strategy for years out of fear. After our first call she did the thing and made more in a single day than she had in her entire 7 yrs of creating.

A third member had been unclear on her niche and brand direction for years, committed to it after one call and made $500 on a custom that same day!

Who this is and is not built for

If you are brand new to creating, still finding your footing and learning the basics, CEO Society is genuinely where you should start. It is free, it is full of resources and there is a lot to absorb there before The Boardroom will serve you the way it is designed to.

But if you have been doing this for a while, feel like you are repeating the same months without meaningful change and are tired of making every decision completely alone, then know that this was built for you.

The Boardroom is $197 a month, priced intentionally to keep it small enough that every member gets real attention.

Why I built this

I do not build things I do not believe in and I do not sell things to creators unless I genuinely believe it will make them more money than it costs them. The Boardroom exists because proximity to people doing serious things and real accountability to someone who understands your specific business are two of the most powerful levers I have ever seen change creator outcomes, and change them fast.

I built what I wish I had when I was figuring all of this out by myself. If you are ready to stop operating alone, I hope you will come join us.

P.S. If The Boardroom sounds like the missing piece, you can apply here. And if you are not quite there yet, come start with us inside CEO Society.

I appreciate how this excerpt highlights the challenges of building a creative career without a strong support system. I understand the importance of learning through experience, and I think having access to the right guidance can make a huge difference. I see a similar feeling of growth and experimentation in Basket Random, where I can improve through practice and learn from every unexpected challenge. The idea of building a supportive community is valuable in both creative work and gaming.
