SWCEO Interviews Chrissy LeBlanc
Blog Post Written By: MelRose Michaels
How do you build a cam career that lasts over a decade without burning out? What does it look like to treat your brand like a business, while still keeping the joy alive?
In a recent Twitter Space conversation, MelRose Michaels sits down with veteran cam model and Eplay ambassador Chrissy LeBlanc to talk about platform pivots, performer burnout, mentorship, and building a cam strategy that actually works for you.
MelRose Michaels: Welcome back to On the Whorizon. I’m your host, MelRose Michaels, here to share what’s worked in building my adult creator business, and to make yours just a little bit easier.
Today, we’re joined by someone who’s been doing that and more: Chrissy LeBlanc. With over a decade in the industry, she’s cammed across platforms, won awards for cosplay streaming, and now helps models navigate camming as a coach and mentor with Eplay. Chrissy, thank you so much for being here!
Chrissy LeBlanc: Thanks so much for having me. I’m excited to be here.

MelRose Michaels: You and I have had so many great convos behind the scenes, especially at conferences, so I’m excited to finally share your insights with the broader community. Can you walk us through your journey in the adult space and how your career has evolved?
Chrissy: Absolutely. I started on Chaturbate and Snapchat around 2015, doing solo shows and couple shows with my then-fiancé, now husband. We were also exploring poly relationships and did girl-girl and group shows. After a few years on Chaturbate, I was approached by Streamate and ended up switching because I earned more per hour there.
That also shifted my cam style toward solo and private shows.
In 2020, Eplay brought me on as a brand ambassador to beta test the platform. Since then, I’ve spent about 10 years in this industry, camming, creating content, and collaborating with other streamers. I’ve been nominated for over 70 awards and won 8, including Cosplay Streamer of the Year in 2021 and 2025.
MelRose Michaels: You’ve covered so many platforms. I want to rewind a bit to the premium Snapchat era. I’ve always felt that kind of content, quick, raw, unfiltered, almost mimicked camming, like a delayed livestream. Was that your experience?
Chrissy: Totally. It wasn’t live, but it had that same off-the-cuff energy. I’d post a quick selfie video without thinking too much about captions or strategy; it was “Here’s the content, take it.”
MelRose Michaels: When you switched to Streamate, you mentioned you made more per hour despite a lower rev share. That’s a good reminder that sometimes higher cuts = higher quality traffic. What was your experience with that transition?
Chrissy: Yeah, it was tough to swallow at first, seeing how much they took. But the traffic was more qualified, less freeloaders, more people ready to go private and pay per minute. The trade-off was worth it for my goals at the time. Less exposure, but more income and shorter hours.
MelRose Michaels: Exactly. When creators are just starting, I usually recommend freemium sites to build a following. But once you’ve got your audience, it makes sense to pivot and optimize for income.
Chrissy: That’s what I did. Dealing with freeloaders daily was draining. I needed a pivot before I burned out. So I focused on private shows with higher pay and less emotional labor.
MelRose Michaels: So what originally pulled you into camming? And what made you stay and build your entire business around it?
Chrissy: It started with my husband and I wanting to create “harem” content, one guy, multiple girls, which didn’t really exist at the time. Camming was a way to build a name and fund those shoots. But we quickly realized live streaming was more profitable and sustainable than clips or running our own site. I also liked the freedom, sleeping in, no boss, working late, and that made it hard to walk away.
MelRose Michaels: That makes total sense. Camming is labor-intensive, but it skips the admin load of fan sites. How did you realize that camming was a better fit?
Chrissy: Live shows felt natural to me. I didn’t enjoy the editing, captions, or sales funnels that come with clip and fan sites. Camming let me focus on performance and connection instead.
MelRose Michaels: You’ve clearly tested every platform, Chaturbate, Streamate, ManyVids, OnlyFans, and now Eplay. At what point did the creator-to-consultant shift happen?
Chrissy: It felt like a natural progression. I’ve worked with amateur and pro models, so I was already used to mentoring. When I started helping Eplay build their site, I finally felt like my voice was heard. Now I get to be “the model in the room” influencing platform decisions, which is incredibly fulfilling.
MelRose Michaels: That’s so powerful. What’s been the biggest shift in camming post-COVID compared to when you started?
Chrissy: It’s more competitive. There’s more awareness, more creators treating this like a real business, and more couples and collabs. That raises the bar for everyone. But it also means more tools, more flexibility, better tech. We’re not stuck in the same few sites anymore.
MelRose Michaels: Facts. And now you can stream from your phone. Is that actually viable quality-wise?
Chrissy: Yes and no. I stream from my phone for voyeur shows, shower, travel, etc., but I treat them differently. Chat is harder to manage, so I keep it simpler and more one-on-one.
MelRose Michaels: Let’s talk mentorship. When new creators come to you, how do you help them figure out what camming style fits them?
Chrissy: I ask questions. What’s their background? What do they enjoy? What are their strengths? Some people love editing and captions; others are natural performers. The advice changes depending on their goals. Flexibility matters too, especially for those with health issues or inconsistent energy. It’s all about building a model that actually works for them.
MelRose Michaels: And what about your own cam style? How did you develop that over time?
Chrissy: Lots of trial and error. In the beginning, I followed all the “best practices.” But over time, I noticed signs of burnout, dreading shows, and procrastinating. That’s when I pivoted. I focused on private shows to reduce pressure and freeloaders. I also started integrating hobbies, cosplay, baking, and crafting, to make things fun again.
MelRose Michaels: That’s such a smart approach. You also started streaming while recording content, right?
Chrissy: Yes! I love monetizing one piece of content multiple ways. If I’m doing a shower show live, I record it and sell the clip later. I also use slow moments during cam shows to shoot teasing content or create reels. It keeps things fresh without wasting time.
MelRose Michaels: Do you have a favorite way to spice things up when shows start to feel repetitive?
Chrissy: I treat my week like Spirit Week at school. I look at pop culture calendars for inspiration, movie releases, weird holidays, random themes, and use those to create events. I also use the “TOTALS” method: Type of show, Outfit, Toy, Angle, Location, Storyline
Even changing one variable can give your whole cam room new energy.
MelRose Michaels: Genius. Are you using a pro camera or a webcam now?
Chrissy: Still a Logitech webcam. I have the Brio, which has 4K, but most cam sites don’t even use 4K for streaming. I do have a separate Blue Yeti mic, though, audio matters. A fan actually bought it for me!
MelRose Michaels: Love that. So let’s talk about standing out, on both the performer and executive sides. How did you position yourself for brand deals, features, and mentorship roles?
Chrissy: I’ve always treated my brand like a business. No drama on socials, no risky posts, no engaging with trolls. Companies know I’m a safe bet. I’m also reliable. I show up, follow through, and make it easy to work with me.
At events, I try to meet everyone, treat everyone with respect, and stay aware, because you never know who you're talking to. That random person at the bar might be a CEO.
MelRose Michaels: Exactly. So many creators want to get nominated for awards. What’s the secret?
Chrissy: Nominate yourself. Ask your fans and friends to nominate you, too. You don’t need a company rep to do it. Promote your nomination. Share it. Show the platform you’re giving them value in return. I’ve even been thanked for treating smaller awards shows like real red carpets, dressed up, on time, and engaged.
MelRose Michaels: Such great insight. Last question: For a brand-new cam model feeling overwhelmed, what’s the first thing they should focus on?
Chrissy: Go back to joy. Why did you get into this? What do you enjoy? And keep it simple. Focus on doing one thing well. That’s how you avoid burnout.
MelRose Michaels: And for the seasoned creator who feels uninspired?
Chrissy: Same advice. Reflect on your why. Revisit old ideas. Rearrange your space. Ask your fans what they want. Don’t be afraid to evolve or pivot.
MelRose Michaels: You’ve said it all. Chrissy, where can people find you and your work?
Chrissy: On Twitter @leblanc_chrissy, Instagram @thechrissyleblanc, and allmylinks.com/chrissyleblanc.
MelRose Michaels: Thanks so much for being here. Your insights are exactly what so many creators need right now.
